Macaroni News for week of November 21 - 27

By Thao Powell November 29, 2016
What a magnificent Thanksgiving week it has been. We spent the the latter part of the week with family and the boys clocked many hours of running around outside surrounded by nature. They loved it And while they were getting lots of exercise playing with their cousins, I logged roughly 5 pounds of turkey, ham, stuffing, green bean, and various other foods over those 4 days. I was more stuffed than the turkey.

Which leads me to some articles in this newsletter focusing on health and fitness.
Five Tips For a Healthier Holiday Season are easy to follow throughout December and into the new year. What about this recipe for garlic roasted Brussels sprouts. I ate my first Brussels sprouts dish this year and I was surprised to find these cabbage looking veggies to be quite tasty.  And if you are planning to start a fitness regimen, I have to mention Coach Roxanne. There are lots of products and lots of philosophies on the best approach for getting fit and healthy. Her nutritional and fitness coaching style is one of the best I have seen. Slow and steady wins the race as the saying goes and many times, people are looking for a quick answer and quicker results.

The giving season is here and you don't have to be rich to be able to give. Find your place to volunteer with this list of resources. Cards for the military is a wonderful and simple family activity. And if you get a chance, read this Letter to Friends and Family from a child with Autism.

There are so many events happening this month so be sure to check the calendar daily for updates.  The Macaroni Kid Katy Holiday Lights guide has free and fee locations and events around Houston to take the family.

The 12 Days of Christmas giveaway will be starting soon so be sure to stay subscribed to the newsletter for a chance to win fun products.
