Katy families are resilient and resourceful

By Betsy Winters February 17, 2021

Well, this week has been a doozie! I just wanted to take a minute (before my electricity goes out again) and reach out to all the wonderful Macaroni Kid Katy readers. I've been thinking about all of you this week and hope you have found ways to stay safe, warm, and make the most of a stressful, sometimes fun, and chilly week.

My family was without electricity for 36 hours and still yet to have water. It is frustrating for all families in a similar situation, no matter the particular circumstances. However, I noticed at the grocery store that everyone was still courteous, helpful, and fairly pleasant. What a wonderful community we live in. Throughout this all I've learned that Katy Texas families are resilient and resourceful.

Next week I hope to return to our "regularly scheduled programming" of Family Fun, events, and opportunities in the Katy, Texas area! Until then, stay warm, safe, and love everyone around you! Feel free to email me at Betsyw@Macaronikid.com anytime, even if it's just to vent or say "hi!"

Finally, I'd like to recognize all the utility workers that have been tirelessly working throughout the day and night to provide electricity and heat to those in need! THANK YOU!

Love,

Betsy.
